The Cure at Walden Pond: Author Thomas Moore in Conversation with Richard Higgins

October 3 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT
Join bestselling author, psychotherapist, and public thinker Thomas Moore for a conversation about his newest book, The Cure at Walden Pond, with author Richard Higgins. Drawing inspiration from Henry David Thoreau’s journals and Walden, Moore explores what Thoreau’s ideas can offer us in a world marked by distraction, consumerism, and uncertainty. Together, Moore and Higgins will discuss spirituality, renewal, our relationship with the natural world, and how each of us might find our own path to a more mindful and meaningful life.

Thomas Moore is the author of the bestselling Care of the Soul and twenty other books on spirituality and depth psychology that have been translated into thirty languages. He has been practicing depth psychotherapy for thirty-five years. He lectures and gives workshops in several countries on depth spirituality, soulful medicine, and psychotherapy. He has been a monk and a university professor, and is a consultant for organizations and spiritual leaders. He has often been on television and radio, including Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday.

Richard Higgins is a writer. He’s the author of Thoreau’s God, about Thoreau’s iconoclastic spiritual vision, (University of Chicago Press, 2024) and Thoreau and the Language of Trees (University of California, 2017).
